Though these are not my cup of tea, and I didn't care for them, I am reviewing this for readers who take to this genre. I like horror and often get free horror story anthologies to read at the end of each month, when I am through with my Kindle First and Kindle Prime Lender's Library books. My favorite was Tales From the Mist. Other collections proved to be more flash horror stories, very short, dark and pure shock value. While these three stories, all concerning witches, were a bit longer than the usual flash stories, they were similar in style. Not what I generally like. The writing was good and the reading easy, but really for pure dark shock value. If you like that kind of thing, give this four stars. The second one bothered me in that it had no ending. You were supposed to imagine what happened. The other two were not bad for the genre. I prefer longer, more developed stories that are not as dark and shocking. If this is what you are looking for, go for it.Product details

Witches A Horror Short Story Collection 3 Tales to Chill Your Bones Book 2 edition by Mav Skye Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
A fun collection of three stories. Each of these presents a very different style of horror and characterization of a witch. Well-thought out and each one different than the last, this collection is an entertaining read for fans of horror.
From the first page, you'll be hooked. And then mercilessly sucked down into the dark worlds imagined by Mav Skye. From a tale of a macabre Halloween night, one featuring a gruesome and all-too-realistic decoration, to the creeping horror of one young witch and her evil plans, this is a collection that kept me fascinated, unnerved, and completely bewitched.
I have been searching for a new favorite horror writer since I lost my taste for Stephen King . . . and here she is! I downloaded this book months ago and just now got around to reading it. Not only are the stories well written, but colorful, vivid and downright nasty . . . and somehow, thoughtful. Skye's writings are worthy of the "horror" label and capable of inducing nightmares. I look forward to reading all of Skye's works!
Really good quick short reads.
Grotesque, macabre, compulsively readable. Mav Skye is a voice to watch out for, a voice to pay attention to. This short collection, short as it is, is filled with a sense of sliding dread that slowly overtakes you. Like a certain brand of potato chip, it's nearly impossible to read just one story in one setting. Should I be ashamed that I read the whole thing in one go?
Minor quibble, the first story is the weakest and needs some minor editing at the end. It's so minor, however, that it doesn't detract from the voice or the imagery. Mav Skye reads like a professional, and her final piece is, perhaps, the most imaginative take on the concept of a witch this author has ever read.
...Killing was candy." Three gruesome tales with an active table of contents, the most chilling in my opinion being the middle short story 'Witch' as thoughts of elementary age children planning the death of a baby was truly horrifying to me. Collection also included the poem "Play With me" which I also thought worthy and deserves mention. I'll leave you with one final passage from 'Witch' that curdled my blood , "I will help you with this, Amy. Friends don't do this kind of stuffs alone." Again, her eyes shined dark violet...
While enjoying the dances of the macabre, the ranting of ravens and the delightful suspense of the story, I am overcome with gratitude that this is a series and that there is more where this came from.
